Full-time / Annual salary: $70,000–$90,000.

Franklin Community Co-op is seeking an experienced Store Manager to lead daily operations at Green Fields Market. We’re looking for someone who enjoys being on the sales floor, supporting staff, solving problems, and creating a welcoming customer experience. Working closely with the General Manager and department managers, you’ll guide store operations, support employee development, and help the Co-op meet its sales, margin, and labor goals.

Your leadership will help maintain a safe, well-organized store and a respectful, collaborative workplace. What you’ll do: Oversee daily operations, including staffing coverage, store readiness, merchandising, safety, and cleanliness. Set clear expectations for department managers and provide the training and resources they need to succeed. Monitor sales, margins, inventory, purchasing, and labor expenses, and take action when results fall short of goals. Conduct regular store walkthroughs and department audits, following through on concerns and needed improvements. Ensure compliance with food safety standards, health regulations, Co-op policies, and the collective bargaining agreement.

Partner with Human Resources on hiring, coaching, employee development, and performance concerns. Coordinate repairs, maintenance, store projects, and operational improvements. Spend at least 50% of your working time on the sales floor, supporting staff and customers.

What you'll bring:

• At least five years of retail management experience, including hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, and developing staff.
• Experience developing budgets, interpreting financial reports, and meeting sales, margin, and labor goals. Strong organizational skills and consistent follow-through.
• Clear, respectful communication and the ability to address concerns directly and fairly.
• A collaborative leadership style and a commitment to an inclusive workplace.
• Availability to work weekends, early mornings, and evenings as needed.
• A high school diploma or equivalent. Experience with natural and local foods, cooperative businesses, and category management is preferred. Spanish language skills are a plus.

Compensation

The annual salary range for this full-time position is $70,000–$90,000.
