Essential Duties
Leadership and Management
- Directly supervise 2+ full‑time employees.
- Recruit, hire, and train enthusiastic staff to ensure excellent customer service.
- Develop, manage, and assign tasks to keep the store clean, stocked, organized, and well‑kept in line with company standards.
- Maintain a professional and supportive image among subordinates and superiors.
- Schedule employees within company guidelines to meet customer needs and store image.
- Apply non‑discriminatory management during hiring, training, counseling, mentoring, motivating and separating employees.
Store Relationships
- Develop positive, professional relationships with all suppliers.
- Promote excellent service and resolve customer complaints promptly and professionally.
- Provide reliable on‑site attendance and promote a safe, positive public image in the community.
Training and Development
- Prepare and conduct ongoing performance appraisals in Workday; include 30‑ and 60‑day check–ins, 90‑day, 12‑month, and anniversary check‑ins.
- Train all employees to meet company standards for customer service, store image, and marketing execution.
- Train employees on safety procedures and promote safety awareness.
- Mentor and train staff on cash awareness to reduce risk to the company/BU.
- Ensure employees complete required training on time.
Communications
- Develop methods to ensure all employees receive timely communication.
- Hold periodic on‑going meetings with all store employees and the District Manager.
Organizing and Planning
- Evaluate and develop action plans to address store needs and reach objectives.
- Organize and maintain all store files and manuals.
- Manage reporting to ensure accurate and timely completion of required and requested reports.
- Ensure merchandise is stocked, displayed attractively, and priced correctly.
- Keep employment‑related posters and signs in accessible locations.
Financial
- Analyze daily sales and expense information and take action to maximize sales and net profits.
- Budget and forecast P&L lines; understand and manage merchandise margins.
- Safeguard and account for all money received and disbursed.
- Perform additional financial analysis to maximize sales and net profits.
- Notify District Manager of any sales, cash, inventory, or operating discrepancies.
Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent plus 1–2 years of retail work experience or equivalent combination of education, training and work experience.
- Ability to supervise and train for the use of equipment, tools and materials listed in the CSR, LSR and SA job descriptions.
- Ability to supervise and manage the functions listed in the CSR, LSR and SA job descriptions.
- Ability to use a computer and complete reports, inventory control, cash control, and employment forms.
- Valid driver’s license and dependable transportation.
- Open availability for all shifts.
- Ability to communicate orally and in writing in English.
- Ability to perform essential duties and physical functions described above.
- Ability to work in the conditions described.
- Ability to operate a motor vehicle.
- Ability to sit for long periods.
- Food Server certificate (e.g., ServSafe) and Food Safety Management certification may be required.
Physical Requirements
- Work a minimum of 50 hours per week.
- Exposed to cold or warm temperature extremes in walk‑in cooler or freezer and outdoors.
- Occasionally lift and/or carry up to 30 pounds from ground to overhead.
- Occasionally lift and/or carry up to 50 pounds from ground to waist.
- Grasp, reach and manipulate objects with hands for entire shift.
- Push/pull with arms up to a force of 20 pounds.
- Reach overhead for objects.
- Bend and twist at waist.
- Communicate orally.
- Operate a cash register and/or computer keyboard.
- Stoop, kneel, squat, bend, push and pull.
- Work alone.
- Be exposed to occasional noise.
- Stand and/or walk for entire shift.
- May require climbing a ladder to store and retrieve materials or place and remove signs.
Work Environment
- Work requires 50 hours per week, including all shifts, weekends and holidays.
- Perform approximately 95% of work indoors; may need to clean parking lots, gas pumps and take out garbage.
- Exposure to extreme cold temperatures in walk‑in cooler or freezer.
- Exposure to occasional noise.
- Work with minimum direction and periodic supervision.
