We're hiring a Store Manager to run our Germantown store.

Whit's Frozen Custard is a small, family-owned operation with three stores in the Dayton area. You'd report directly to our Area Manager and have real authority over how your store runs day to day: who you hire, how the week is scheduled, what gets made, and what the place looks like when a customer walks in.

If you've been a shift lead or assistant manager somewhere and you're ready to actually own a store, this is that step.

What you'll own

• Your team. You hire and onboard your own cashiers and run training at your store, from first shift through certification.
• Your schedule. You build the weekly schedule for crew, shift managers, and yourself, against availability and a labor budget you're given each week.
• Your product. You run the evening production plan - pints, quarts, and cakes - and keep the cases stocked.
• Routine ordering. Day-to-day supply orders against par levels, on your own.
• Your standard. Cleanliness and organization, held every day, not just on audit day.
• Same-day coverage. Call-offs and last-minute gaps at your store are yours to solve.

What you won't own

Pricing, marketing, equipment repairs, vendor contracts, and the large supply orders all sit with the Area Manager. You'll know how they work; you won't be responsible for them. When something breaks or a problem gets bigger than your store, you report it - you don't get left to solve it alone.

What we're looking for

• Year-round availability. This is the single most important thing. Our busiest stretch is summer, but the job doesn't pause in September.
• Evening and weekend availability. The store is open seven days a week, and closing shifts are the heart of the operation.
• Someone who has been genuinely accountable somewhere before - a prior job with a real boss, a team, anything where people counted on you and you showed up.
• Comfortable directing a small crew rather than out-working them. The job on a shift is running the floor, not doing every task yourself.
• 18 or older, reliable transportation, and able to open and close the building on your own.
• Able to stand for a full shift and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Food service or retail management experience preferred, but we'll train the right person. ServSafe certification is a plus.

Hours

The store is open seven days a week. Managers work either an opening block (in around 11:00 a.m. for prep before doors open at noon) or a closing block through post-close cleanup. Closing times shift earlier through fall and winter. You'll work a mix of both, including weekends.

Start date

We're looking to fill this position immediately. Training is hands-on with our current team, and the sooner you can start, the more direct handoff you'll get.
