As a SONIC Drive‑In restaurant Store Manager, you lead crews, oversee operations, and ensure that food is delivered in a clean, safe, and efficient manner while providing an excellent customer experience.
Store Manager Responsibilities
- Manage, train, monitor, and coach crew, team members, carhops, and skating carhops.
- Direct and assign drive‑in restaurant employees to meet operational standards.
- Ensure employee compliance with the drive‑in employee handbook, policies, and practices.
- Perform restaurant opening and/or closing duties.
- Prepare employee work schedules and adjust staffing levels as needed.
- Monitor and maintain restaurant inventory levels; place orders for food, paper, and supplies within cost‑control procedures.
- Complete and maintain all restaurant employment‑related records and payroll records.
- Reinforce a customer‑service mentality and ensure all employees focus on serving customers.
- Resolve guest requests promptly and report complaints to the supervisor.
- Interview and hire crew and management team members to maintain appropriate staffing levels.
- Prepare operational reports and develop action plans to address unfavorable financial or sales trends.
- Develop and implement a marketing plan.
Qualifications & Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required; advanced studies in business, restaurant management, or related fields preferred.
- Minimum two years of restaurant management experience (QSR preferred); experience running shifts independently.
- Must work a minimum 5‑day workweek with 3 closing shifts, including irregular hours, nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Knowledge of recruiting, interviewing, and selection practices.
- Knowledge of federal and state labor laws and local health and sanitation regulations.
- Leadership and supervisory skills; effective verbal and written communication.
- Basic accounting and computer skills.
- Ability to follow directions and work autonomously; multi‑tasking and problem‑solving skills.
- Conflict‑resolution and decision‑making abilities.
- Willingness to comply with appearance, uniform, and hygiene standards at SONIC.
