About This Role
The Studio Manager oversees daily operations at a Rowan studio, ensuring exceptional customer service, a clean and safe environment, and the achievement of sales and performance goals. The role requires strong leadership, a passion for retail, and a commitment to safety and customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
Customer Experience
- Create a warm, welcoming, celebratory atmosphere and greet customers.
- Engage on the selling floor, deliver celebratory service, and ensure each customer enjoys a memorable ear‑piercing experience.
- Help customers choose and style their ears with Rowan jewelry.
- Handle inquiries, concerns, and complaints professionally, focusing on satisfaction.
- Maintain a clean, welcoming, and safe studio environment at all times.
- Engage with the local community to drive brand awareness, traffic, and appointments.
Leadership & Team Management
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of nurse piercers and sales associates to deliver consistent customer service and adhere to Rowan’s safety standards.
- Accountable for meeting studio targets, driving revenue growth, and creating a performance‑oriented culture.
- Foster a positive, inclusive team culture that reflects Rowan’s values and mission.
- Schedule staff, manage payroll accuracy, approve time‑off requests, and handle staffing issues.
- Recruit for open studio positions.
Operations & Sales
- Oversee inventory management, ensuring compliance with policies and standard operating procedures.
- Meet or exceed individual and studio sales targets, including average order value and revenue to target.
- Drive sales and profitability through optimized appointments, inventory sell‑through, and adequate team coverage.
- Maintain visual merchandising standards and brand‑aligned displays.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, particularly regarding ear‑piercing procedures.
- Keep the studio floor neat, clean, organized, and reflective of the brand image.
Training & Development
- Train and onboard new staff, ensuring understanding of procedures, safety protocols, customer experience standards, and product knowledge.
- Provide ongoing coaching, feedback, and development opportunities to enhance team skills.
Administrative Duties
- Prepare and submit reports on studio performance, including sales, customer feedback, and operational opportunities.
- Track expenses, manage budget, and meet financial targets.
- Coordinate with corporate teams on marketing initiatives, product launches, and other company‑wide activities.
Qualifications
- 3‑5 years of retail management experience, preferably in a service‑oriented environment; jewelry experience is a plus.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire, motivate, and develop a team.
- Customer‑obsessed, passionate about delivering memorable experiences on the selling floor.
- Proven track record of driving sales and optimizing store profitability.
- Excellent customer service, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to handle a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
- Comfortable using technology, software systems, and POS.
- Deep understanding of retail operations, inventory management, and visual merchandising.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations related to piercing is a plus.
- Proficient in Google Suite (Calendar, Gmail, Sheets, Documents).
- Analytical skills, including basic retail math and inventory tracking.
- Physical ability to lift up to 25 pounds, climb ladders, bend, lift, push, and reach above and below the waist; standing for an 8‑hour shift is required.

Compensation & Benefits
- Annual base salary: $65,000 – $75,000.
