Store Manager Candidate

Role Overview

The Store Manager Candidate supports store operations by assisting with employee supervision, staffing, inventory management, merchandising, and customer service. This role involves participating in recruitment, maintaining store presentation, managing inventory, and ensuring safety and security protocols are followed. The position serves as a developmental opportunity for external candidates to prepare for a Store Manager role.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in recruiting, staffing, and training staff members.
• Help with merchandising, stocking, and store presentation according to company standards.
• Support inventory management, including damages, markdowns, and conducting inventories.
• Ensure proper ordering to meet in-stock goals.
• Deliver excellent customer service and act as a role model for store policies and procedures.
• Participate in store opening and closing activities, cash handling, and security measures.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and well-stocked store environment.
• Review financial statements to identify business trends and control expenses.
• Complete all required documentation accurately and timely.

Qualifications & Skills

• Ability to interpret manuals, safety rules, and procedures.
• Proficiency in basic math, cash handling, and inventory practices.
• Effective communication, interpersonal, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of retail operations, safety, and security policies.
• Preferred high school diploma or equivalent; retail experience is advantageous.
• Bilingual skills may be preferred depending on location.

Physical & Work Environment

• Frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 55 pounds.
• Occasional climbing, driving, and outside weather exposure.
• Fast-paced setting with moderate noise levels.
