About the Role
At Tea Collection, we believe every child deserves to grow up connected to the world around them. Our collections are inspired by global cultures and designed to spark curiosity and help kids see just how big and beautiful the world really is. Our stores are that mission made real — welcoming places where families feel at home the moment they walk in. We're looking for a Store Manager who believes, like we do, that retail is about people first.
This isn't simply a management role — it's a chance to build a community. You'll create a store where every customer feels genuinely welcomed, every child is greeted with delight, and every parent leaves a little more confident in the incredible job they're already doing.
You'll lead a high-performing team, build lasting relationships with families, and create the kind of experience that keeps people coming back — again and again. If you remember names, love building relationships, and believe kindness matters as much as sales, we'd love to meet you.
Key Responsibilities
Create an Exceptional Customer Experience
- Foster a warm, welcoming environment where every family feels at home.
- Build authentic relationships with customers that reach far beyond a single transaction.
- Grow a devoted clientele through thoughtful follow-up, personalized service, and community.
- Help parents find pieces that fit their family's world — and reinforce the joy of raising globally curious kids.
- Create memorable moments that inspire lifelong loyalty to Tea Collection.
Lead and Inspire Your Team
- Recruit, hire, train, and develop an outstanding and top performing team.
- Coach your team to deliver exceptional service with warmth, empathy, and confidence.
- Build a positive, affirming culture where employees feel valued, supported, and excited to show up.
- Create schedules that support the business while respecting your team's lives.
- Foster accountability while leading with kindness and encouragement.
Drive Business Results
- Achieve and exceed sales goals through exceptional service and clienteling.
- Read store performance and spot the opportunities to grow.
- Lead local outreach and community partnerships that introduce new families to Tea Collection.
- Build a culture where strong relationships naturally become strong results.
- Meet with the broader brand team at the company's Emeryville office to report on results and to share learnings and opportunities for the brand, assortment, and retail performance.
Operate an Exceptional Store
- Keep the store beautifully merchandised, organized, and always welcoming.
- Maintain operational excellence across inventory, cash management, and store standards.
- Execute visual merchandising that tells Tea Collection's story.
- Partner closely with company leadership to keep improving the customer experience.

- Comfortable on your feet through a full shift, and able to lift and move boxes up to 50 lbs — receiving shipments, steaming, cleaning, merchandising, and setting the floor are all part of the day.
