From unloading trucks and rotating product to assisting customers and keeping the store tidy, your work has a direct impact on the shopping experience our customers count on every visit.If you enjoy staying active, take pride in doing things right, and like being part of a team that keeps things running smoothly, this could be a great fit for you.No two shifts are exactly the same, but here's what you can expect:Deliver outstanding customer service by greeting customers warmly and helping them find what they need throughout the storeAssist customers with finding products, reaching items, carrying heavy purchases, and passing along any feedback or requests to the teamUnload trucks, open containers, stock shelves, run overstock on risers, and rotate product to ensure freshnessMonitor for mis-picked items, product outs, and wrong deliveries, and report issues accordinglyOrganize stock for greatest efficiency and clean and restock any damaged itemsTag shelves with overstock in the back room and understock drawersReport new or different items to the scanning coordinator for system inputOperate the register for customer purchases as neededStock supplies including cigarettes, front-end sacks, and department suppliesAssist with outside maintenance including shoveling snow, spreading ice melt, and returning cartsHelp with cleaning throughout the store including registers, restrooms, breakroom, and backroomTrain new stockers on job duties as neededMaintain compliance with Hy-Vee's dress code, hygiene standards, and all company policiesAssist in other store areas and take on special projects as neededYou'll receive direction and support from: Store Director, Store Manager, Assistant Managers of Store Operations, Perishables, and Service ManagersYou don't need prior experience for this role! We'll happily train and support you as you grow. To be successful, you'll need to be able to:Follow written and verbal instructions with confidenceUse basic math skills, including fractions, decimals, and percentagesCommunicate clearly with customers and teammates in a friendly, helpful wayStay organized and keep up with the pace of a busy store environmentHigh school diploma or equivalent required; up to six months of similar or related experience preferredAccountable and Reports to: Store Director, Store Manager, Assistant Managers of Store Operations, Perishables, Health and Wellness Home, and Service ManagersThis is a physically demanding, hands-on role performed throughout the store. You may encounter daily exposure to dirt, noise, equipment movement hazards, and cleaning chemicals or solvents, with occasional exposure to temperature extremes and potential electrical shock.
The role involves working with and around heavy store equipment. Safety is always a priority, and training is provided to help ensure a safe and supportive work environment.
