Central Sterile Processing Technician
Assignment Duration
This is a 13-week contract position.
Schedule

• 12pm - 8:30pm, with call/lates and weekend requirements (1 position available)
• 3pm - 11pm, with call/lates and weekend requirements (2 positions available)

Job Description
The Central Sterile Processing Technician is responsible for cleaning and decontaminating surgical instruments and other medical equipment. You will play a vital role in ensuring that all medical devices are sterilized, inspected, and ready for use.
Responsibilities

• Cleans and decontaminates surgical instruments and medical equipment following manufacturer's Instructions For Use (IFU).
• Inspects, assembles, packages, and sterilizes medical devices according to manufacturer's IFUs.
• Operates automated washers, ultrasonic cleaners, cart washers, and sterilizers in compliance with manufacturer's guidelines.
• Inspects surgical instrumentation during tray assembly to ensure proper functioning and cleanliness.
• Prepares surgical case carts for add-ons and emergency cases.
• Communicates effectively with other staff members to facilitate timely instrument and supply needs.
• Completes daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning of all areas of the department, signing off on cleaning logs and product out-dates.
• Completes other duties as assigned to facilitate the functions of the department and hospital.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• 2 years of Central Sterile/Sterile Processing experience is required.
• Prior travel experience is necessary.
• Certification from CBSPD or HSPA is required.
• BLS certification is required.
