Sterile Processing Tech (SPT)Tryfacta is seeking a Sterile Processing Tech (SPT) for our client in Sonora, CA 95370. This is a 13-week contract assignment. If you meet the qualifications listed below and are interested, please apply now!Location: Sonora, CA 95370Duration: 13 weeksWork Schedule: Evening shift/Tuesday - Friday, (12:00-22:30) 40 hoursResponsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:Decontaminate, clean, inspect, assemble, and sterilize surgical instruments and medical equipment.Assemble surgical instrument sets and trays according to departmental standards.Sterilize instruments, trays, basins, and equipment using appropriate sterilization methods and cycle parameters.Prepare instruments for immediate-use steam sterilization (IUSS) when required.Perform daily diagnostic testing on sterilizers, biological indicators, test packs, and endoscope processors.Evaluate instruments for functionality, safety, and quality before returning them to service.Process and reprocess instruments for multiple departments, including the Operating Room, Emergency Department, Respiratory Therapy, Physical Therapy, Radiology, and Outpatient Endoscopy.Inspect, document, and process loaner instruments while maintaining accurate tracking logs.Maintain biological incubator records and monitor sterilization test results.Assist with case cart preparation and picking supplies for upcoming surgical procedures.Distribute sterile supplies and patient care equipment to clinical departments.Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant sterile processing environment, including routine cleaning of sterilizers, autoclaves, and high-level disinfection equipment.Assist Operating Room staff with room turnover, terminal cleaning, and other perioperative support duties as needed.Maintain accurate sterilization records and ensure compliance with infection prevention, safety, and regulatory standards.Work collaboratively with Registered Nurses (RNs), surgical staff, and perioperative leadership to support safe and efficient patient care.Perform other related duties as assigned by the Perioperative Services Manager.To be considered for this position, you should have:High School Diploma/GED required; Associate's or Technical Degree preferred.Current Sterile Processing Technician Certification (HSPA/IAHCSMM or CBSPD) required.Experience with instrument decontamination, assembly, sterilization, and infection control practices.Knowledge of autoclaves, biological/chemical indicators, and high-level disinfection.Strong attention to detail, organizational, and communication skills.Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced acute care or surgical environment.#HLT123 Tryfacta is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
