Step into a vital nursing role supporting gen med/oncology stepdown patients in a dynamic, well-supported unit. This contract opportunity offers meaningful hands-on patient care and utilizes the latest healthcare technologies and protocols.
Schedule & Hours:
- 3x12 hour night shifts (19:00 - 07:30)
- Every other weekend required
- Block scheduling may be accommodated (please specify preferences)
- No on-call responsibility
Qualifications:
- Active Michigan RN License required
- BLS (AHA) certification required
- ONCC or ONS certification required (ONS may be pending; ONCC must be current)
- Minimum 2 years of stepdown/PCU nursing experience
- Competency in administering chemotherapy via IV and starting IVs
- Experience with Welch Allyn vital sign towers, sigma IV pumps, and using EPIC for documentation
Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality nursing care to general medicine/oncology stepdown patients
- Administer IV chemotherapy following established protocols and safety standards
- Start IV lines and document all interventions and assessments in EPIC
- Maintain nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:4-6; additional support provided as needed
- Float as needed to other med-surg areas, including AU and ER, caring for med-surg patient populations
- Collaborate closely with multi-disciplinary teams and support staff
- Participate in self-scheduling for non-weekend shifts; weekend shifts determined by manager/scheduler
- Remain available for the first two weeks of assignment; any time-off requests after offer must be discussed with management
