Key Responsibilities

• Manage quarterly and annual statutory financial reporting, ensuring accurate and timely submissions to state insurance regulators.
• Maintain compliance with NAIC Statutory Accounting Principles (SAP), SSAP guidance, and applicable insurance regulations.
• Oversee statutory disclosures, supporting schedules, and regulatory reporting requirements across multiple legal entities.
• Analyze risk-based capital (RBC), group capital calculations (GCC), and other financial solvency measures.
• Coordinate statutory audits, regulatory examinations, and responses to insurance department inquiries.
• Partner with investment accounting and reinsurance teams on statutory valuations, reserves, Schedule F, and related financial disclosures.
• Evaluate complex accounting matters and reconcile differences between GAAP and statutory accounting.
• Work with Finance, Actuarial, Investments, and other departments to gather and validate reporting information.
• Strengthen reporting controls, improve documentation, and identify opportunities for automation and process improvements.

Required Qualifications

• Active CPA certification required.
• 8+ years of accounting or financial reporting experience within the insurance industry.
• Direct experience preparing or managing statutory financial statements for a insurance carrier.
• Strong working knowledge of NAIC reporting standards, SAP, and SSAP requirements. xhqgsiq
• Understanding of insurance reserves, investment accounting, reinsurance transactions, and regulatory capital requirements.
