Stationary Engineer, CF
Under the general supervision of the Chief Engineer, the Stationary Engineer is responsible for the operation, maintenance, and repairs of boilers, heaters, pumps, valves, appurtenances, and lines used in the distribution of heating and cooling. Operates, repairs, and maintains refrigerant compressors, condensers, evaporators, traps, expansion valves and stop valves, together with all refrigerant lines and devices used to control temperatures. Must maintain current EPA certification to service and/or dispose of HVAC refrigerant and/or equipment in accordance with the Clean Air Act of 1990. Maintains safety and order and supervises the conduct of people committed to the Department of Corrections. Maintains security of working areas and work materials. Maintains safety and order with staff.
Effective July 1, 2025, the Personal Leave Program 2025 (PLP 2025) was implemented. PLP 2025 requires that each full-time employee receive a three (3) percent reduction in pay in exchange for five (5) hours of PLP 2025 leave credits monthly through June 2027. Salaries do not reflect the recent changes.
