Job Overview:
The State Licensing Specialist ensures compliance with all U.S. state licensing requirements for pharmaceutical operations. This role manages licensing processes for manufacturing, distribution, and third-party logistics, supporting end-to-end regulatory needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Handle applications, renewals, and maintenance of state licenses and permits.
- Liaise with state regulatory bodies (e.g., Boards of Pharmacy, Health Depts).
- Maintain a centralized database of licenses, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Monitor renewal timelines and manage proactive submissions.
- Work with cross-functional teams (Regulatory, Legal, QA, Supply Chain) to gather documentation.
- Stay updated on regulatory changes and flag business impacts.
- Support audits, inspections, and regulatory inquiries.
- Develop and maintain SOPs related to licensing.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s in Regulatory Affairs, Life Sciences, or related field.
- at least 2+ years’ experience in regulatory licensing in pharma.
- Strong understanding of Boards of Pharmacy and state licensing requirements.
- Detail-oriented with solid organizational and multitasking skills.
- Clear communicator with proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Familiarity with licensing databases a plus.
Preferred:
- Experience with VAWD, NABP, or other licensure platforms.
- Knowledge of DEA/FDA regulations.
- Track record of managing licenses across multiple states.
