Starting Pig Specialist will work with farm staff during the nursery stage of production in wean to finish production sites.
Responsibilities & Duties
- Train & assist farm staff during the nursery stage of production
- Preplacement site inspections
- Initial stocking plans
- Sorting & Treating
- Mat & Gruel Feeding
- Ability to troubleshoot & adjust heating & ventilation systems.
- Assessing health issues and the ability to perform on farm diagnostics
Requirements
- Excellent verbal & written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational & time management skills.
- Prior swine management experience.
- Valid drivers license with a clean driving record.
- Travel – across Iowa with possible overnight stays
