Standards Development Liaison

Representing the VHA in standards development organizations, the full-time Standards Development Liaison will engage with groups like HL7 and SNOMED, manage knowledge repositories, and analyze the impact of health data standards on VHA systems and workflows. Key responsibilities Engages with standards development organizations to represent VA's interests and manage participation in meetings Analyzes and translates health data standards for operational impact, advising on adoption and conformance Develops and maintains a structured knowledge management system for standards-related content, ensuring accessibility and currency Required qualifications Bachelor's degree Ten years of experience in project management for standards development Demonstrated participation in health data standards development organizations Working knowledge of health data standards and terminologies, including HL7 V2, CDA, and FHIR Experience building and maintaining structured knowledge repositories or content governance processes
