General Summary

Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. seeks a lead engineer in the Engineering Group – Modem Technologies. This individual will lead, plan, synthesize ambiguous or conflicting requirements and perform the complex responsibility of developing our next generation cellular modems in technologies including GSM, CDMA, UMTS, LTE, WiFi and 5G.

Defines, implements and unit‑tests various tiers of hardware models for the wireless modem hardware data‑paths and control plane using advanced modeling techniques. Develops models that include behavioral, architectural, performance and cycle‑accurate models. Designs the models in terms of what is modeled versus what is not modeled. Creates detailed design specifications for partitioning between blocks, sub‑blocks and interfaces.

Works with cross‑functional teams including hardware RTL design, hardware DV, systems technology and firmware to define model APIs. These APIs allow the models to be integrated into various platforms where they serve as the hardware DV golden reference, system performance validation reference and firmware virtual prototyping platform.

Performs automation using scripting (Python, Perl or Shell) to streamline model development, testing and integration of workflows. Acts as a strong contributor at design reviews and project meetings.
