Staff Technical Program ManagerThis is an incredible opportunity for a Staff Technical Program Manager to play a crucial role in shaping the foundations and future of our rapidly growing Apex Fintech Solutions organization. In this role, you'll help scale the organization by creating, improving our project delivery practices, a best practice program governance and operations function, and taking ownership of cross-functional initiatives that are critical to the success of our strategy. You'll collaborate closely with the leaders, operations, product, engineering, and other TPMs across Apex.The role will require constant balance between long term product vision along with addressing immediate needs, driving an incremental approach that is metrics and data driven. It will require communicating effectively with leaders across Director and VP level on a regular basis while ensuring that the teams are aligned and stakeholders are aware of key performance indicators.Duties/ResponsibilitiesServe as a liaison between the business, product, and technical teams for strategy definition, prioritization, initiative kickoff, tracking, communications, and deploymentPartner closely with peers, leaders, and stakeholders to build and drive the strategic vision for Apex's tech product delivery and execution; work with senior leaders to foresee and solve complex problems thereby enabling efficiency and scaleMaintain a continuous project portfolio roadmap for the organizationActively manage organizational capacity management through continuous portfolio planning to protect program-level delivery commitments across squadsDefine how the TPM function engages Legal, Compliance, Sales/Pre-Sales, Product Marketing, Vendors, and Relationship Managers company-wide — building frameworks, playbooks, and escalation paths, and partnering directly with functional leaders in each group.Execute communications operations for the Technical Program Management team including operations, project, and status with a strong internal and external customer focusDrive organization change management through a planned delivery excellence program, defined roadmap, engagement management with stakeholders, and execution of planned improvementsIdentify, develop, and put into practice new tools and processes that enable Apex to scale and optimize its product delivery efficiency and effectivenessHelp break down projects into component parts, identifying and tracking dependencies and opportunities for optimization; proactively identify problems and recommend solutions before they become blockersManage large-scale, cross-organization programs, integrations, and migration effortsWork closely with software development teams to define, improve internal tools and processes key to engineering successProvide ongoing visibility into the progress, risks, and timelines of projects against targeted deadlines to application teams as well as other stakeholders and executive leadership.

Make recommendations based on team impact, priorities, and value delivered to our customersBuild clear and transparent communication channels to align internal stakeholders and ensure that relevant audiences receive accurate updates on programs and projectsManage the release of key engineering projects to internal customers in a regular cadence. Document and present program's deliverables at town hallsFacilitate program meetings, retrospectives, cross-functional operations reviews to continuously improve processes for the company's operating modelActively develop the TPM community in Apex and coach individuals and teams on project management best practicesWork with product and engineering to clarify goals and deliverables; bring data to planning and prioritizationCreate and refine processes when necessary; maintain focus on reliability and continual improvements, and automation and scalingIdentify KPIs and success metrics, collect and analyze data; make information visibleCommunicate goals, status, risks, and impact to deliverablesEducation and/or ExperienceB.S. in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration or equivalent10 - 12 years of experience in technical program management in a dynamic and highly technical environment, a strong track record in managing multiple complex cross-functional projects in a cloud/SaaS environmentExperience working collaboratively across organizations; strong leadership and interpersonal skills, experience building and fostering effective working relationshipsExperience influencing without direct authority at senior levels internal and external to the engineering organizationRequired Skills/AbilitiesAbility to take a data-driven approach to program management; building tools (workflows, custom work intake processes, estimation models), collecting and analyzing data, and driving stakeholder buy-inExcellent verbal and written communications for technical and non-technical audiences with the ability to tailor and deliver communications to all levels of an organization from project teams to executive leadershipExpert-level knowledge of project management techniques and tools within various software development methodologies ( e.g. Waterfall, SDLC, Agile)Proficient in the use of MS Office, MS Project, Visio, and other agile collaboration & work tracking tools (Wiki's, Confluence, JIRA, TFS, etc).Strong organizational, problem solving and analytical skillsOther Preferred QualificationsProject Management Institute certification (PMP or CAPM)Scrum Master CertificationFamiliarity with distributed systems and experience working in a SaaS environmentWork experience in the financial industryWork EnvironmentThis job operates in a hybrid, office environment 3 days per week.#IT # mid-senior #full-time #APEXOur RewardsWe offer a robust package of employee perks and benefits, including healthcare benefits (medical, dental and vision, EAP), competitive PTO, 401k match, parental leave, and HSA contribution match.
