Leading agent optimization efforts, the full-time Staff Software Engineer - AI Optimization will design tools for Temporal users to enhance agent performance while managing token spend and response time, all in a remote work environment. Key responsibilities Design and build agentic coding systems to ensure high-quality outputs Take end-to-end ownership of new features, collaborating with cross-functional teams for reliability and developer experience Serve as a domain expert on AI design patterns and engage with the developer community for feedback and debugging Required qualifications 8+ years of professional work experience in software engineering Proven experience optimizing AI systems using machine learning and systems techniques Fluency in multiple programming languages, including Python, TypeScript, Java, and Go Deep experience with concurrent programming and API design BS or MS in Computer Science or equivalent work experience in production-grade software development
