Focused on designing and operating Internet-scale systems, the remote Staff Software Developer will build and enhance backend services for scanning, data collection, and processing, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to improve the accuracy and reliability of Censys' Internet Map. Key responsibilities: Design, build, and operate systems for Internet-scale scanning, DNS resolution, and data pipelines Own production backend services that collect, process, and validate massive Internet datasets Lead technical design for distributed services and partner with various teams to implement scalable solutions Required qualifications: 10+ years of software engineering experience with a focus on production systems Strong backend engineering skills in data ingestion pipelines, scanning systems, and high-throughput services Experience with cloud infrastructure such as AWS, GCP, or Azure Proficiency in programming, primarily using Go Familiarity with distributed databases or large-scale storage systems
