Staff Software ArchitectSONIFI Solutions is seeking a Staff Software Architect to lead the design and evolution of our next generation platforms across hospitality technology. This role is responsible for defining and driving end to end architecture across cloud native systems, hybrid platforms, and emerging AI driven capabilities.This is a highly influential technical leadership role focused on building scalable, secure, and modern systems while guiding engineering teams through architectural decisions, platform modernization, and adoption of best practices. You will partner closely with engineering, product, and security teams to align technical direction with business priorities.SONIFI Solutions is a leading provider of technology solutions for the hospitality industry, delivering guest engagement, connectivity, and entertainment platforms to hotels across North America.

Our technology powers the digital guest experience through WiFi, interactive TV, and integrated services that drive value for hotel partners.What you will do:Define and own overall solution architecture across platforms and productsDesign scalable, resilient, and secure cloud native systems in AWSLead architecture for microservices and event driven systemsDrive API first design standards including governance, versioning, and authenticationPartner with product and engineering teams to translate business needs into technical solutionsLead legacy modernization efforts and platform consolidation strategiesArchitect and integrate AI and GenAI capabilities into products and developer workflowsEstablish patterns for integrating services such as OpenAI and AWS BedrockEnsure strong system performance, reliability, observability, and securityCollaborate with security teams to enforce best practices and compliance standardsProvide technical leadership, mentoring, and guidance to engineering teamsConduct architecture reviews, design walkthroughs, and technical evaluationsDefine and promote best practices across development and architectureWhat you will need:Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field or equivalent experience10 or more years of experience in software engineering with deep architectural expertiseStrong experience with the following required to be considered:AWS and cloud native architectureMicroservices and event driven systemsAPI design and integrations including REST and GraphQLLinux based systems and environmentsContainerization technologies such as Docker or PodmanModern CI CD practicesExperience in several of the following areas required to be successful in this role:Scalability, reliability, observability, and performance designNetwork fundamentals including latency and protocolsData modeling and system integrationSecurity concepts including OAuth2, OIDC, API gateways, and service meshMulti tenant cloud architectureProgramming experience in one or more of the following required to be considered:PythonJavaScript or TypeScriptGoC++Additional experience that is a BIG plus:AI, ML, or GenAI platforms and servicesDeveloper productivity tooling and automationDomain driven design and architecture modeling approaches such as C4Legacy system modernization and platform consolidationHospitality or lodging technology experienceWhy join SONIFI? Work on meaningful technology that impacts guest experiences across thousands of hotel properties.Compensation range generally starting at $120,000 to $180,000.
