Staff And Senior Software EngineerSuno's platform teams build the foundation upon which everything else is built, from our products at scale to our internal processes. We're hiring Staff and Senior Software Engineers to work on one of the teams that powers the entire company: Infrastructure, Platform, and Leverage. These teams work on a range of complex challenges, from the lowest layers of compute, to the platforms that 70+ engineers build on daily, to the AI-native tools and workflows that catalyze how everyone at Suno works, to the core creation surface where millions of people make music.During the interview process we'll work with you to find the team that's the best mutual fit based on your background, technical strengths, and what gets you excited.

What all of these teams share: they're building foundational systems at scale, they own their work end-to-end, and their output directly determines how fast and how well Suno can build and ship products. They solve hard problems with autonomy and a bias toward engineering excellence. On one of Suno's platform teams, you'll work on a subset of the complex challenges outlined below:Build the platforms that 70+ engineers depend on to ship product quickly and safely — APIs, authentication, deployment tooling, backend-driven configuration, and similarManage migrations that help teams transition off legacy systems seamlessly and without riskCollaborate with engineering teams across the company to understand their needs and build the right abstractionsBuild shared infrastructure, agentic tooling, and workflows that enable AI-native development across the companyDefine best practices, frameworks, and evaluation systems for how Suno uses tooling in daily workPartner closely with engineering and non-engineering teams to understand their needs and build the right solutionsArchitect and build services to handle write-heavy consumer traffic and dataDesign systems that are performant, secure, scalable, and easy to observeBuild and operate distributed databases, caching layers, and storage systems at consumer scaleScale Kubernetes infrastructure and control planes to support rapid product and ML growthDesign inference infrastructure that keeps AI workloads fast, reliable, and cost-efficientBuild the foundational infrastructure for next-generation song creation: a multi-modal music agent, a create platform that powers multiple song creation products, and a realtime API enabling live generation and radio experiencesOperate with ambiguity — scope what matters, move fast, and drive projects forward independently as the space evolvesOwn systems end-to-end — from design through deployment, monitoring, and operational excellenceMentor other engineers and raise the bar for engineering quality, reliability, and maintainabilityTo succeed on one of Suno's platform teams, your experience and skill set might resemble a cross section of the following:5–7+ years of infrastructure, backend, or systems engineering experienceExperience building and operating systems at significant scale in productionStrong understanding of distributed systems, cloud services (AWS/GCP), and modern infrastructure patternsExpertise in infrastructure and platform security best practicesAbility to reason through hard scaling, reliability, and performance problems with clear technical judgmentTechnical leadership or management experienceExperience building internal systems 0?1 — auth, notifications, CDN, or similarExperience with websockets, streaming traffic patterns, and audio/video deliveryFamiliarity with backend API design patterns at scale to serve internal backend, web and mobile clients alikeExperience on a platform or developer experience team where your primary customers were other engineersAbility to manage system migrations with multiple dependent engineering teamsA working knowledge of security best practices in building and scaling infrastructureHands-on familiarity with the current landscape of AI for software engineering including, but not limited to: models, agents, coding assistants, and agentic workflowsExperience building or operating agent orchestration, tool calling, or streaming LLM generation systemsExperience building a streaming or realtime protocol in production — streaming generation, chat/turn-based UI, or live progress feedsShipped APIs consumed by iOS and Android clients in production; mobile-friendly API design is second natureObservability is part of how you ship — you instrument before launch, not afterMentorship experience — you've actively developed junior or mid-level engineers, not just worked alongside themStrong product instincts — you synthesize user needs and build the right abstractionComfort operating in ambiguous, fast-moving problem spacesHigh ownership — you drive projects end-to-end without waiting for directionStrong communication skills — you keep stakeholders informed and reduce ambiguity for the teams you serveStrong written communication — patient and educator-minded when rolling out tools that change how people workStrong oncall instincts — triage, debug, and resolve incidents across a distributed stackA love of music, whether you're an avid listener or musician yourselfThis role is based in Cambridge, MA (Boston).
