Arcadis seeks a Staff Roadway Design Engineer to join our team in Tampa, FL. This position involves utilizing your technical knowledge as part of our local project team, developing innovative solutions throughout the national market. This is an excellent opportunity with great potential for growth.
Role accountabilities
- Assist the development and design of infrastructure projects for roadways, including intersections, collector streets, urban arterials, rural and urban expressways, interstates, and interstate interchanges.
- Perform different roles on multi‑disciplined projects including planning, technical design of minor projects, production lead, task leader, and assisting Project Manager and lead engineers.
- Develop project scopes and budgets, interface with and maintain client needs for the Project Manager, mentor and develop junior staff and designers, create project plans, maintain project schedules, and ensure compliance with all Arcadis practices including quality and safety standards.
Required Qualifications
- 4+ years of work experience including experience on FDOT projects.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
- EIT certification.
Key Skills & Attributes
- Planning and/or Engineering experience with infrastructure, including environmental document preparation, cost estimates, technical reports, construction plans, and project displays.
- Proficiency with CAD, particularly MicroStation and OpenRoads.
- Familiarity with FDOT design standards and policies.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to contribute information to meetings, assist with client presentations, and prepare written reports and minutes.
- Ability to work on multiple unique assignments simultaneously.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem‑solving skills; self‑motivated, team‑oriented, flexible, with initiative to tackle new projects and challenges.
- Preferred experience in a client‑facing role, presenting and managing client expectations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Active participation in regional and/or national professional associations.
- Working towards Florida PE.
- OpenRoads Designer (3D) experience highly desirable.
