Full‑time equivalent: 0.9 (36 hours per week). This is an on‑site position.
Job Summary
The Registered Nurse is a practitioner responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care for an identified group of patients in an inpatient environment. This role demonstrates competency in delivering care to a primarily adult population. The Staff RN‑Inpatient job description incorporates essential functions adapted from the ANA Nursing: Scope and Standards of Practice, 2nd Edition (2010).
Responsibilities
- Conduct patient assessments and develop individualized care plans.
- Implement nursing interventions and evaluate patient progress.
- Coordinate care with the interdisciplinary team.
- Adhere to institutional policies and professional standards.
Experience Required
Clinical competence and experience in caring for target patient populations specific to the employment area.
Education Required
Completion of an accredited School of Nursing program, necessary for licensure as a Registered Nurse. Non‑BSN nurses with less than one year of experience must enroll in a BSN (or higher) program within 15 months of hire and complete the program within 5 years (or 6 years for MSN/DNP/PhD).
Education Preferred
Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing.
Licensure Required
Current Wisconsin Registered Nurse License or a Nurse Licensure Compact license from a participating state. AHA Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS) or an AHA‑approved equivalent required within 90 days of hire.
Department Specific Requirement
AHA HeartCode Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) for healthcare providers or an AHA‑approved equivalent required within 1 year of hire.
