Lead product design at Staff level for clear, accessible experiences that help people understand, supervise, and confidently use AI software.
The opportunity
Shape how people work with AI when an answer needs evidence and an action carries consequences. Move from workflow research to detailed interactions, working alongside product and engineering to make complex tasks understandable.
Lead the experience direction for complex AI workflows across products and teams. Connect user research with reusable interaction patterns, guide consequential design decisions, and mentor designers while remaining hands-on with research, prototyping, and implementation quality. This role requires demonstrated design leadership and influence beyond a single feature.
What you will do
- Research users, map operational workflows, and turn findings into prototypes and production-ready designs.
- Design AI interaction patterns for evidence, uncertainty, approvals, errors, progress, cancellation, and recovery.
- Create readable interfaces for dense information, sensitive data, and role-based actions.
- Maintain reusable components and accessible interaction patterns across responsive web experiences.
- Validate designs through usability sessions and collaborate with engineering on implementation quality.
What you bring
- Staff level: at least 8 years of relevant professional product design, interaction design, or user experience design experience.
- Prior professional experience working at an AI-forward company is required.
- A portfolio of shipped digital products showing your reasoning, research, interaction design, and attention to detail.
- Strong proficiency with Figma or comparable tools, prototyping, design systems, and developer collaboration.
- Experience designing complex workflows and making tradeoffs between usability, capability, and risk.
- Working knowledge of accessibility, responsive design, and clear product language.
- Ability to explain how AI-assisted behavior changes the information a user needs to make a decision.
Helpful experience
- Enterprise software, operational tools, document-heavy applications, or regulated-industry experience.
- Examples of designing human review, permissions, or trustworthy AI interactions.
