Staff PhysicianNaphCare is hiring a Staff Physician to join our team of medical professionals in the Yuma - Arizona Department of Corrections in San Luis, Arizona.Pay rates range from $120.00 to $137.00 per hour based on shift, site needs, hire status, and experience.Full Time and Part Time positions may be available! This can be onsite or remote.As a Correctional Staff Physician, you will be responsible for providing quality medical care to meet the healthcare needs of the patients within the facility, while working alongside correctional officers and other medical professionals.ResponsibilitiesThe Staff Physician is responsible for performing physical exams, diagnosing and treating illnesses, and managing chronic conditions, ensuring care is provided to protect the rights, dignity, and health of our unique patient population.
Responsibilities may include and not be limited to:Formulating working diagnoses, developing and implementing treatment plans, and evaluating/modifying therapeutic regimensEvaluating patients who have returned from off-site treatmentResponding to and initiating care for medical emergencies throughout the facilityCoordinating, leading and participating in educational and training activities related to medical care for patientsConducting rounds in the medical and infirmary unitsEnsuring compliance with State and Federal mandates and regulations, including court mandates and standardsCollaborating on with other medical professionals to ensure staff are responsive to patients' needsQualificationsExperience / Requirements / Qualifications / SkillsMedical degree (MD or DO)Must hold a current unrestricted license as a physician in ArizonaA current DEA registration in STATEMust be Board Certified or Board Eligible in Family or Internal Medicine.Be able to obtain BLS CPR Certification (AHA preferred)Ability to interact effectively with patients from diverse backgrounds, including those with mental health or substance abuse issuesMust possess strong written communication and verbal skills and have strong computer skills.Experience in general medicine, a strong knowledge of current medical principles and practices, and the ability to collaborate with medical teamStrong leadership, communication, and organizational skillsKnowledge of applicable laws, regulations, and industry standardsAble to maintain confidentiality of all proprietary and/or confidential informationDisplay integrity, professionalism and be able to adhere to a Code of Conduct and comply with all facility(s) correctional healthcare policies, procedures, and legal requirementsMust pass the facility's criminal background check and drug screeningNaphCare is one of the largest providers of healthcare services to correctional facilities throughout the US and we are growing.
