(this is an open continuous announcement)The Plastic Surgery Staff Physician is responsible for patient care, patient education and resident supervision. The Plastic Surgeon provides comprehensive plastics surgery care for patients within the scope of plastic surgery. The scope of this activity covers all phases of clinical care in the inpatient and outpatient settings.

Plastic Surgery resident and possible medical student education with appropriate supervision in the outpatient setting, inpatient setting and operating room are expected of the provider.Administrative duties include but are not limited to:Writing medical orders and prescription for the care of the patientDocumenting care in the computerized patient record systemObtaining consent and documents procedures performedProviding education and counseling to patients and their families and the use of prescribed treatments and medications for other medical conditionsReviewing revised policies and scope of practice standards, etc.Clinical duties include but are not limited to:Completing consults received for plastic surgery evaluationPerforming comprehensive and detailed history and physical examinationOrdering diagnostic studies such as laboratory tests, radiologic exams and proceduresConsulting other services to complete the patient evaluation, etc.Recruitment Incentive (Sign-on Bonus): Not AvailableEducation Debt Reduction Program (Student Loan Repayment): Learn more.EDRP Authorized: Former EDRP participants ineligible to apply for incentive. Contact , the EDRP Coordinator for questions/assistance This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment.

Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) & eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after review of the EDRP application.
