Position Summary
The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at UC Irvine School of Medicine is seeking a part‑time OBGYN Hospitalist to join its faculty. The program is accredited; a single part‑time candidate will be hired. The incumbent will provide high‑quality obstetrical and gynecological care across multiple sites in Orange County.
Key Responsibilities
The responsibilities of the position focus on delivering patient‑centered obstetrical and gynecological services, maintaining inpatient care standards, and supporting the department’s education and research mission.
Required Qualifications
- MD or DO with a documented career focus in obstetrics.
- Board certified (or active candidates) and ability to obtain ACLS for OB and NRP certifications within one year of hiring.
- Knowledge of HIPAA and patient privacy issues, especially regarding mental health.
- Demonstrated track record of success and positive peer review.
- Capability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
- Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload.
- Ability to delegate, empower staff, and build strong employee morale.
- Legal qualification for practice of medicine in California, as determined by the California Board of Medical Quality Assurance.
- At least one year of practice exclusive of internship and demonstrated knowledge and abilities essential to the duties of the position.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of standard hospital policies, procedures, and forms.
- Conceptual understanding of electronic medical records.
