Job Description: The Division of Anesthesiology at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital seeks a full time Staff Physician -Anesthesiologist to support safe, high quality clinical care for pediatric patients. This role combines direct patient care, staff supervision, and compliance oversight within a collaborative, mission driven environment focused on treating children with cancer and other catastrophic diseases.
The anesthesiology team provides specialized services in oncology, pain management, and complex pediatric conditions. St. Jude is the only NCI designated comprehensive cancer center devoted solely to children and is consistently recognized as a top workplace and leader in pediatric oncology. Qualified candidates will hold an MD or DO (or equivalent), be board certified or eligible in anesthesiology, and preferably in pediatric anesthesiology, with eligibility for Tennessee licensure. Fellowship training in pediatric anesthesiology is strongly preferred.
Responsibilities include performing patient assessments, ordering and interpreting diagnostic studies, determining treatment plans, monitoring patient response, prescribing medications, and coordinating care with referring providers. The physician also supervises clinical staff, supports education for fellows and nurse practitioners, ensures regulatory compliance, contributes to quality improvement, and maintains accurate reporting and communication across the department.
