Staff Pharmacist | Valley Head, West Virginia

A hospital-owned retail pharmacy seeks an experienced pharmacist to manage daily operations during a 12-week medical leave coverage period starting September 8th. This role offers an opportunity to work in a bustling community-focused environment that blends traditional retail pharmacy services with a welcoming gift and coffee shop setting.
Schedule and Location:

• 20 hours per week, ideally Tuesday and Wednesday (flexibility available)
• 7:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. shifts with a 30-minute lunch break
• Located in Valley Head, WV

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee and direct pharmacy technicians and staff pharmacists
• Verify and dispense medications, ensuring accuracy and safety
• Manage inventory, medication stock, and maintain the formulary
• Ensure compliance with controlled substance regulations and documentation
• Administer the 340B program, including regulatory compliance
• Handle pharmacy billing, claims submission, and reconciliation
• Utilize and maintain accuracy in electronic health records and pharmacy systems (training provided)
• Support workflow and participate in quality improvement initiatives
• Administer immunizations

Qualifications and Experience:

• Active and clear West Virginia pharmacy license required
• Experience with Pioneer RX software preferred
• Graduate of an accredited School of Pharmacy; PharmD preferred but not required
• Current CPR certification and immunization credential required
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills

This role operates within a fast-paced environment processing roughly 4,000 prescriptions monthly and offers an engaging opportunity to deliver excellent patient care in a unique retail-hospital setting.
