Overview

Performs duties of distribution, documentation and compounding related to drugs, solutions and equipment to meet the needs of patients and staff. Responsible for reviewing, compounding, dispensing and monitoring medication therapy for infants, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients, including dose variations, nutritional needs and disease states associated with the various age groups. Supervises pharmacy technician activities, monitoring all orders filled by auxiliary personnel. Assumes responsibility for competency and self‑development in professional pharmacy practice. Performs patient‑focused clinical activities throughout the hospital to provide optimal medication therapy.

Qualifications

Education

  • Graduate of an ACPE-accredited school of pharmacy with a Bachelor’s or higher in Pharmacy (Required)

Work Experience

  • No experience required (Required)
  • Hospital pharmacy experience (Preferred)

Licenses and Certifications

  • PHARMD – Licensed Pharmacist licensed as a registered pharmacist in the state of Georgia (Upon Hire Required)
