Provide pharmacy expertise in a behavioral health hospital setting supporting acute care needs with a focus on pediatrics and detox patients. This contract opportunity is based in Eagle River, AK, with work primarily in Anchorage, AK, and offers the chance to contribute to patient care during an 8-week coverage period.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform accurate order entry utilizing the HCS Web EMR system, with onsite training provided
- Conduct Omnicell medication checks via Citrix/OCRA Remote Desktop access
- Monitor drug therapies and ensure compliance with facility protocols
- Collaborate with pharmacy technician staff for medication distribution support
- Adapt to coverage needs which may include additional weekdays and possible on-call support
- Current Alaska pharmacist license is required
- Experience in acute care or behavioral health pharmacy practice strongly preferred
- Proficiency or willingness to learn EMR and automation systems onsite
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
- Professional demeanor consistent with business casual dress code
- Mondays, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM weekly
- Additional coverage August 3rd-7th, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM
- Potential for other weekday shifts as needed
This position offers onsite training before starting and the opportunity to work closely with a dedicated pharmacy team within a specialized behavioral health environment. Local candidates are preferred; however, consideration will be given for travel expense reimbursement if relocation is necessary.
