Danbury Hospital, part of Nuvance Health, is seeking a full-time Pathologist to join their group of 24 board-certified pathologists across the system. This employed position offers a competitive base salary, incentive compensation, and a comprehensive benefits package. The role is based at the Danbury Hospital campus in Danbury, Connecticut, a community hospital with a cancer program and a wide range of clinical services.

Practice Info

  • Part of a comprehensive health system, Nuvance Health, which has over 4 million test results per year (inclusive of approximately 50,000 surgical pathology cases) across the system.
  • Hosts a pathology residency program at the Danbury Campus and PA students from Quinnipiac University at Norwalk and Danbury campuses.
  • Teaching affiliate of the University of Vermont, conferring ranked academic appointments.
  • Growing cancer institute that brings interesting and varied cases.
  • Danbury Hospital is a 371-bed not-for-profit community hospital and a Level II Trauma Center with approximately 70,000 ED visits per year.
  • Employed Medical Practices include 900+ physicians and advanced practice providers, serving a geographically broad region throughout western Connecticut and eastern New York.

Responsibilities

  • Interact with clinicians and laboratory staff.
  • Perform frozen sections.
  • Perform cytology interpretations (both GYN and non-GYN).
  • Perform rapid on-site cytology assessments.
  • Perform occasional autopsies.

Compensation

  • Full-Time Salary Range: $325 - $360k annually commensurate or relative to experience.
  • Competitive base salary and incentive compensation.
  • Per Diem Opportunities also available at $225/hour.

Requirements

  • MD or DO.
  • Completion of AP/CP Residency training.
  • Board Certification in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology required.
  • Candidates with subspecialty training and/or experience are encouraged to apply.
  • Both experienced pathologists and those in fellowships are encouraged to apply.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • CT and NY State Medical License or eligibility to obtain an unrestricted medical license.
