The Staff Nurse in the Med/Surg ICU provides professional nursing care to patients within an assigned unit, focusing on diagnosing and treating health problems through various nursing methods and techniques.

What You'll Do
- Identify and discriminate between physical and psycho-social signs and symptoms.
- Develop, implement, and continuously evaluate the nursing regimen for assigned patients/clients.
- Record and maintain nursing care plans and progress notes on patients/clients.
- Interpret and report responses of patients/clients to appropriate members of the health team.
- Participate with interdisciplinary health team members to plan a comprehensive patient care program.
- Determine and assign components of the nursing regimen to allied nursing personnel.
- Provide teaching, guidance, and direction to allied nursing personnel in patient care.
- Participate in defining, implementing, maintaining, and interpreting standards of nursing practice.
- Participate in departmental and interdisciplinary conferences regarding nursing practice policies.
- Maintain professional competence through participation in continuing education and learning experiences.
Requirements
Licenses & Certifications:
- Current RN License in New York
Additional Compensation
- Annual education differential based on degree:
- Bachelors in allied health discipline = $900
- Masters in allied health discipline = $1,200
- Bachelors of Science in Nursing (BSN) = $1,800
- Masters of Science in Nursing (MSN) = $2,000
- Doctorate in Education, Nursing Practice or PhD in Nursing (DNP) = $2,500
- Annual certification differential ranging from $1,878 up to $4,878 for nationally recognized certifications.
- Annual nursing experience differential ranging from $987 up to $8,190 for up to 10 years of experience.
