Role Overview
The Staff Nurse provides expert nursing care based on principles from biological, physical, behavioral, social, and nursing sciences. Key responsibilities include assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care with a focus on family-centered approaches for diverse patient groups.
Responsibilities
- Deliver patient-centered, safe, and high-quality care across all age groups.
- Lead, mentor, and support clinical staff, including precepting new employees.
- Participate in quality improvement, safety initiatives, and evidence-based practices.
- Collaborate with provider staff to ensure efficient operations and excellent customer service.
- Utilize informatics and technology, including electronic medical records.
- Support systems-based practices and contribute to staff education.
- Perform duties across various hospital areas as needed based on patient care requirements.
Qualifications & Skills
- BSN required; must obtain degree within 5 years if not already earned.
- Current Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association.
- Valid RN license in Ohio; Multistate License required within 90 days if providing care outside Ohio.
- Minimum of 2 years relevant experience preferred.
- Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with pediatric ambulatory care and electronic medical records (e.g., EPIC) is preferred.
Additional Requirements
- Ability to work well under pressure and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Strong computer skills with Microsoft Office or similar software.
