What You'll Do

• Demonstrate leadership skills in the coordination and delivery of patient care.
• Coordinate an interdisciplinary plan of care.
• Assure 100% assigned patients have a documented plan of care.
• Ensure completion of patient care assignment 100% of the time.
• Ensure interdisciplinary plan of care is congruent with accepted LOS parameters for all assigned patients.
• Delegate aspects of care of the patient to team members consistent with capabilities and responsibilities of caregiver.
• Ensure that delegated aspects of care are completed in accordance with established standards of practice.
• Negotiate with team members if unable to fulfill role responsibilities; elevate as per MMC policy and procedure.
• Establish a therapeutic relationship with patient/family.
• Assume charge nurse assignment.

Requirements

• Education: Associate degree in nursing required, BSN preferred.
• Experience: Two years of Med Surg RN experience required.
• Licenses & Certifications:
  • Valid New York State Registered Professional Nurse license and registration required.
  • Basic Life Support Training required.
  • Infection Control Training required.
  • Certification in specialty preferred.
