Staff Machine Learning Engineer, Ads Modeling

Unity’s Vector Ads Modeling team builds the ads recommendation foundation that powers more personalized ad experiences. As a Staff Machine Learning Engineer in New York (onsite), you’ll help shape the modeling roadmap, push foundational research forward, and turn results into production-ready work through fast validation on real user data and large-scale compute.

Compensation : USD 172,200 - 283,900 per year (base salary range varies by zone). In addition to base pay, the role may be eligible for equity awards and participation in company incentive plans, such as annual discretionary bonuses or sales commissions. Final offers depend on location and relevant experience.

What you’ll do

• Identify opportunities and design a modeling roadmap that addresses customer needs
• Drive foundational research for new models and modeling paradigms
• Use rich user data and large-scale compute to validate models rapidly
• Partner closely with engineering and product teams to productionalize research

What you bring

• Hands-on experience applying state-of-the-art machine learning and deep learning models to complex real-world problems, specifically in user behavior modeling
• Proficiency in Python , PyTorch , and deep learning frameworks
• Solid understanding of metric design , large-scale data analysis, and distributed computing frameworks
• Proven ability to drive projects end-to-end, including solving critical cross-team problems and delivering measurable business outcomes
