Staff Electrical Hardware Engineer – Computing & Interface ProductsLocation: Sterling Heights, MI Pay Rate: $58-$67/hourlyAbout the RoleThe Staff Electrical Hardware Engineer will support the development of ruggedized electrical hardware and circuit board assemblies used in advanced defense vehicle computing and interface products. This role supports the full product lifecycle from requirements development through design, debug, testing, qualification, and production release.This position requires experience supporting target detection technologies and modern defense architecture standards including MOSA, SOSA, GCIA, and TSN.Responsibilities to Anticipate / ExpectDesign and develop electrical components and subsystems for processing and interface productsGenerate and review hardware and software requirements, test plans, and design documentationSupport full lifecycle development from concept through production deliveryPerform circuit design, component selection, prototype debug, and hardware validationSupport system architecture analysis, trade studies, and engineering design reviewsDevelop and implement engineering design fixes and coordinate technical solutionsSupport hardware IPS processes across all project phasesTrack design changes, debug status, and hardware/software revision controlLead small projects including schedule, budget, manpower planning, and customer interactionMinimum QualificationsBachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering10+ years of relevant electrical hardware design experienceExperience using engineering development and electrical test toolsStrong written and verbal communication skillsAbility to work effectively on interdisciplinary engineering teamsStrong organization and multi-tasking skillsAbility to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security ClearanceDesired Technical ExperienceExperience in several of the following areas is highly desired:Architecture & Defense StandardsTarget Detection systemsMOSA, SOSA, GCIA, TSN architecturesElectrical Design & Hardware DevelopmentDigital and analog circuit design, power design, and thermal analysisSchematic capture, component selection, simulation, and PCB layoutEMI/EMC and high-speed signal integrity designProcessing & Embedded SystemsMicroprocessor-based designs (Intel, AMD, ARM)Single board architectures (VPX, VME, COM Express)Embedded microcontroller development (C, C++, Visual Studio)Interfaces & ProtocolsPCIe, DDR, USB, SATARS422/485, MIL-STD-1553, CAN, EthernetGraphics and video interfaces (HDMI, DisplayPort, HD-SDI, LVDS)FPGA & ReliabilityFPGA design and simulation (Xilinx toolsets)Military qualification standards (MIL-1275, MIL-461, MIL-464, MIL-810)Six Sigma tools including DFMEA and reliability analysisAdditional InformationMust be eligible to obtain a U.S. Security ClearanceGround combat vehicle experience preferredOccasional evening or weekend support may be requiredWhy Join CPIWork on cutting-edge defense and advanced vehicle technology programsCompetitive compensation and strong contractor advocacyDedicated recruiter partnership and career supportLong-term program opportunities with leading defense OEMsStreamlined onboarding and contractor support processOpportunity to contribute to mission-critical national security systemsUS CITIZENSHIP REQUIREMENT: This assignment is a US Government Contract which requires all applicants to be US Citizens.
