Maintenance TechnicianThis role is intended for our Essex Junction site Fab 9, a 200mm semiconductor manufacturing facility. As a Maintenance Technician, you are responsible for monitoring, sustaining, and improving the equipment and/or processes in the assigned area, while working in partnership with production team members and area engineers. Maintenance Technicians monitor equipment performance, schedule, perform preventative and corrective maintenance on assigned tool sets, and use mechanical, electronic and PC/software skills to troubleshoot and resolve equipment related issues.

Concise communication of updates on the status of equipment and area to the Lead Tech and/or Engineer is a vital part of the job.Essential ResponsibilitiesFollow detailed instructions and procedures to complete tasksAbility to perform work activities in a safe and responsible manner in line with all FAB9 EHS&S policiesWork independently and collaboratively with teams in a fast-paced environmentSupport and engage in training activitiesPerform preventive and corrective maintenance on equipment as required per the operating proceduresMonitor, control, and test semiconductor equipment for manufacturing readinessRecover equipment from process interruptions, complete event documentation and effectively communicate end of shift pass downsAbility to effectively use time management to prioritize and plan daily work and scheduled activities.Physical Capacity DemandsAbility to work in a standing position for >85% of a 12-hour shift (excluding breaks)Ability to walk on uneven surfaces for >85% of a 12-hour shiftAbility to lift, pull, and/or carry at least 50 pounds periodically throughout the shiftAble to lift equipment and tools when performing maintenance activities (above 50lbs requires a two-person lift)Ability to manually manipulate hand tools and small hardware for >85% of a 12-hour shift (excluding breaks)Ability to perform activities that include climbing vertical ladders, bending at waist, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching up/over, and crawling for >85% of a 12-hour shift (excluding breaks)Ability to utilize computer (typing, visual screen time) for >85% of a 12-hour shift (excluding breaks)Ability to work in a cleanroom environment per semiconductor protocol/requirementsAble to work in a cleanroom environment wearing required clean room clothing per semiconductor protocol/requirements for a minimum of 10 hours a dayAble to wear upgraded PPE in accordance with GF safety procedures, including, but not limited to, safety shoes, safety glasses, chemical splash apron & gloves, and full-face shield, when required.Able to remain in compliance with OSHA & NIOSH standard CFR (clean shaven) to don and work in an N95 Dust Mask or other air filtering devices, to include full-face respirator (cartridge & supplied air) for extended periods of time (> 2 hours)Other ResponsibilitiesPerform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements, and programs.Required Qualifications2 Year Technical/Associates Degree in Science, Math, Engineering, Semi-Conductor Manufacturing or a related discipline or equivalent military training/experience or equivalenceAt least 6 years direct experience working in semiconductor manufacturing or in semiconductor tool/equipment/facilities maintenanceFluency in English Language – written & verbalAble to perform shift work on a 12-hour shift schedule; including working in a cleanroom environment per semiconductor industry and GlobalFoundries protocol/requirementsAble to wear all required clean room protective clothing and equipment throughout a 12 hour day (excluding breaks)Able to lift a minimum of 30 pounds on a periodic basis throughout the shift (preventive maintenance) and/or process issuesAble to perform work in a standing position for majority of a 12 hour shift (excluding breaks)Preferred Qualifications8+ years direct experience working in semiconductor manufacturing or in semiconductor tool/equipment/facilities maintenanceStrong technical skills and knowledge of semiconductor processing and process equipmentAble to operate computer and system interface programs to ensure appropriate computing and analysis of production informationAble to follow detailed instructions and procedures to complete tasks and required documentation; demonstrate solid work performance in an environment requiring high level of attention to detail and timelinessStrong team member, able to work well with a global team, train new team members as needed and other duties as assigned;
