Staff Engineer, PCB LayoutDate: Jun 28, 2026Location: Austin, TX, USCompany: Celestica International LPSummary: The Staff Engineer, Hardware Design CAD works with cross functional teams with other PCB Layout designers, customers, manufacturing engineering and project leadership to ensure robust and high quality product development. Enhance designs with feedback from reviews in areas such as manufacturing, test, supply chain, reliability, industrial design and simulations. Provide support throughout the manufacturing process of the electrical/mechanical system that they have designed.Detailed Description: Performs tasks such as, but not limited to, the following: Develops new or significantly modifies and improves existing designs or techniques related to systems, products, devices, components, using Computer-aided Design software (CAD) software. Reviews and interprets customer specifications. Actively participates in design reviews and offers technical advice and feedback to the customers' technical staff to develop product requirements. Participates in project planning and scheduling. Provides feedback to customer and other design centers regarding design issues, quality, materials, etc. Provides support to other engineering functions throughout life cycle of product, from design through manufacturing and works with team members to resolve and design or production problems.Knowledge/Skills/Competencies: Refer to technical skills below Engineering Foundation Competencies Expert in PCB design tools Cadence Allegro 16.x &17.x, experience on Valor Trilogy 5000/NPI is preferred Possess experience in high density PCB design up to 28 layers and Familiar with high-speed layout design requirements Working knowledge of setting and complying with board and trace constraints Strong knowledge of PCB & PCBA manufacturing process Excellent knowledge of industry and quality standards, knowledge of IPC standards is preferred Strong knowledge of IT platforms and database design Familiar with EMC & EMI layout requirements Able to summarize the layout experience from the customer's requirements Self-motivated, capable of completing assignments in a dynamic environment, aggressive schedule, and complex design requirementPhysical Demands: Duties of this position are performed in a normal office environment. Duties may require extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or on numbers and other detailed data. Repetitive manual movements (e.g., data entry, using a computer mouse, using a calculator, etc.) are frequently required. Occasional travel may be required.Typical Experience: 8+ years as a layout engineer and on storage, network or server or communication products Typical Education Bachelor degree or consideration of an equivalent combination of education and experience.
