Responsibilities
- • Perform as a member of an interdisciplinary team developing novel hardware integration and testing for developmental NGAS programs
- • Contribute to development of hardware subsystems by developing functional architectures, analyzing performance, managing requirements and interfaces, and verifying/validating allocated requirements
- • Design, develop, build, and test electrical components, equipment, systems, and networks with key suppliers
- • Translate customer requirements into hardware specifications
- • Collaborate with engineers and program stakeholders to integrate avionics and mission subsystems
- • Work with hardware, software, and firmware engineers
- • Develop supplier procurement specifications and statements of work, and review supplier development artifacts
- • Document designs using detailed schematics, diagrams, and specifications
- • Support development and integration of hardware subsystems and components
- • Develop integrated hardware integration and test
- • Perform functional and performance analyses and detailed trade studies
- • Estimate component, subsystem, and system performance according to governmental and commercial standards
- • Configure, test, document, and troubleshoot avionics and mission systems
- • Travel up to 10%
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline from an accredited university and 12 years of related professional/military engineering experience; OR Master’s degree in a STEM discipline and 10 years of related professional/military engineering experience; OR Ph.D. and 8 years of related professional/military engineering experience
- Knowledge of electromagnetics in the RF spectrum (VHF through Ka bands)
- Familiarity with one or more RF sensing modalities and their applications
- Experience designing, developing, integrating, and/or testing RF equipment for airborne platforms
- Active U.S. Government-issued Top Secret SCI Security Clearance and Special Program Access (SAP) within a reasonable period determined by the company
- U.S. Citizenship required for positions with a government clearance
- Preferred: Experience in RF/EW applications, including MATLAB, Python, and/or C/C++, tracking and algorithm development
- Preferred: Experience designing, developing, integrating, and/or testing EW or Radar subsystems for airborne platforms
- Preferred: Experience with RF antenna and component design and performance analysis
- Preferred: Experience with model-based systems engineering using Cameo or similar SysML tools
- Preferred: Experience generating and managing requirements in DOORS
- Preferred: Experience with performance analysis using MATLAB and Excel or similar tools
- Preferred: Familiarity with Atlassian collaboration tools (Jira and Confluence)
- Preferred: Experience in supplier/subcontract management
- Preferred: Experience developing supplier documentation, performance-based specifications, and statements of work
- Preferred: Knowledge of NGAS Sector Engineering procedures
- Preferred: Experience building supplier evaluation criteria and conducting technical evaluations
- Preferred: Experience decomposing, deriving, allocating, and tracing requirements from system to component level
- Preferred: Experience working on multidisciplinary teams and writing technical proposals
- Preferred: Knowledge of systems engineering design methods, including requirements analysis and flow-down, specification derivation, and interface control documentation
