Staff Data + DevOps Engineer - Pre-IPO Network Security Company
Santa Clara, CA (you can work from home 1x/week)
The company is in the SASE (Secure Access Service Edge) and SD-WAN networking space. It has raised significant funding from top investors and expects an IPO in the next 1-2 years. It has nearly 1,000 employees, 250 of whom are engineers, and is rapidly growing.
Responsibilities:
- Work on data pipelines for various ML/AI products.
- Interface with DevOps teams to build out the pipelines.
- Collaborate with Data Scientists and Software engineers to implement new features.
- Improve monitoring and debuggability of existing pipelines.
Qualifications:
- At least 5 years (preferably more) of professional experience as a Data Engineer.
- Experience setting up multi‑tenant Spark & Kafka clusters.
- Experience running infrastructure automation using Jenkins, Ansible, Terraform, or similar tools.
- Strong skills in Python.
- Experience cleaning, processing, managing, analyzing, and searching vast collections of data.
- Experience with Apache Spark, Apache Kafka, and related toolset.
- Some experience with database technologies and knowledge of when to use NoSQL, regular SQL DB, or cloud SQL DB.
- Team player able to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
Nice to have:
- Experience with Go.
- Experience with Kubernetes.
- Experience with Scala.
Compensation: $200–250k salary plus equity.
