Job Overview
Northrop Grumman Mission Systems has an opening for an Integrated Product Team (IPT) Lead with technical background in RF integration and test for Prime Mission Equipment. This position is located in Linthicum, MD. The IPT Lead will lead an engineering team working to transition designs to production for a critical sector priority program with many time‑critical elements and high management visibility. The role will interface with personnel in the Factor Test Cells, Engineering & Program Management, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Mission Assurance, and will brief internal and external customer leadership on progress.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical or mechanical engineering, or STEM‑related degree, with 12 years of industry experience, or master’s degree and 10 years of industry experience. An additional 4 years of experience in lieu of a degree is acceptable.
- Active and current Secret government clearance.
- Experience with Front End Design (FED), RF Electronics, RF Cabling, COTS procurement and testing, and System Cabling.
- Experience with hardware design and/or hardware integration & test and/or experience moving hardware through the BWI factory.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Control Account Manager (CAM) activities and the Earned Value Management system (EVMS).
- Fluency with developing and executing project schedules.
- Experience reporting project status to program, functional management and/or customers.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with 1.5 years minimum experience as an Integrated Product Team (IPT) Lead, program manager or other leadership position leading engineers supporting a program or business function.
- Available onsite at the BWI facility during first shift.
- Mechanically focused engineer with experience making drawing updates and pushing drawing through process.
Preferred Qualifications
- Demonstrated ability to plan, execute and lead a hardware team to meet cost, schedule and technical performance.
- Leadership of multi‑site or multi‑sector IPTs.
- Experience with Model‑Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools (e.g., Cameo, MagicDraw, IBMRationalDOORS).
- Experience supporting Basis of Estimates (BOEs) and proposals.
- Experience with REX (receiver/exciter) through design or integration and test, Antenna Subsystem, and/or general RF Integration and test for hardware.
- Experience identifying and quantifying risks/opportunities.
- Experience working with Global Supply Chain and Manufacturing Material Processing.
- Experience with the Root Cause Correction Action (RCCA) process.
- Experience managing products in the critical path of a program.
- Experience with LRU/LRM Integration and testing for an EMD product transitioning to production.
- PMP certification is a plus.
- Active and current Top Secret government clearance is a plus.
Compensation & Benefits
Primary level salary range: $169,000.00 – $253,600.00. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus. Annual bonuses reward individual contributions and company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. Benefits include health insurance, life and disability insurance, savings plan, company paid holidays, and paid time off for vacation and/or personal business.
