Justice For Our Neighbors North Central TexasJustice For Our Neighbors North Central Texas (JFON NCTx) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that extends hospitality to low-income immigrants by providing free and affordable immigration legal services, providing education to the public, and engaging in advocacy with immigrants. JFON NCTx is a regional affiliate of National Justice For Our Neighbors.PositionThe JFON NCTx staff attorney (part time) provides direct immigration legal services to low-income clients, and trains and supervises support staff and volunteers who assist in providing those services. The attorney's caseload could include SIJS, VAWA, U Visas, T Visas, Adjustment of Status, TPS, DACA, and others.

The attorney also participates in efforts to raise community awareness, serves as a source of legal education for immigrants, and engages in immigrant rights advocacy.ResponsibilitiesOversee assigned caseload involving the legal needs of immigrant clientsProvide legal counsel and advice to clients who attend JFON NCTx intake clinics and assist eligible clients in preparing immigration petitions and applicationsProvide representation for JFON NCTx clients in Immigration Court and other federal, county and District courts and hearings as necessaryDevelop a work plan and service priorities for working with JFON NCTx clientsCompile and analyze programmatic statistical information for progress reportsContribute to the public education and advocacy efforts carried out by JFON NCTxPerform other duties as assignedQualificationsMust have a J.D. and be admitted to a state bar, preferably the state of TexasOrganized and detail-orientedExcellent oral and written communications skillsStrong commitment to public interest legal service is requiredAt least 1-2 years of non-profit work experience is preferredGeneral knowledge of immigration and nationality law, and family law is required, work experience in the field is strongly preferredWorking proficiency in both English and SpanishAbility to work sensitively with people having diverse personalities, lifestyles, cultures and faithsHow To ApplySend resume by email to Executive Director Sid Earnheart ( ).
