Leading the technical strategy for Reddit's Video Ads, the full-time remote Staff Android Engineer will build and guide the development of innovative ad formats on Android, ensuring high performance and scalability while mentoring senior engineers across teams. Key responsibilities: Partner with Product and Design to develop a roadmap for transforming Video Ads into an industry-leading format Provide technical guidance and establish best practices for building scalable video ads and unique ad formats Drive the full development lifecycle from discovery and prototyping to testing and deployment Required qualifications: 8+ years of software engineering experience, with a minimum of 3+ years in Android development using Kotlin Prior experience in Ad Tech, focusing on interactive and rich-media mobile experiences Strong product mindset with a proven track record of delivering user-facing features emphasizing UI polish and performance Experience navigating complex, data-intensive environments and building fault-tolerant client-side systems BS degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience
