Staff Analyst ~ Assistant ManagerWashington, D.C., District of Columbia, United StatesAbout the JobHours: 40hrs/weekMon-Thur 8am-6pm, Fri 8am-12pm or Mon-Fri 8am-5pmJob ResponsibilitiesWorks closely with government trade offices in order to maximize business opportunities, and participates at public relations activitiesMonitors and reports US political and economic issues (International trade, steel and other related manufacturing industries)Develops, revises and implements internal compliance policies and procedures, screening, training and audits pertaining to trade compliance issuesAssists in managing the development and implementation of lobbying strategies including coordination with outside counsel, industry allies, legislators and regulatorsAssists in monitoring the company’s priority government relations issues such as the U.S. Governments international trade policies and keep the management informed about major changes and their implicationsAssists in developing and managing strategy for expanding the company’s corporate social responsibility activitiesDevelops familiarity with steel market regulation; attends industry-related conferences, seminars and research analyst meetings to gather informationAssists in planning and implementing events and other activities to support the company’s government relations goalsPerforms other duties as assigned by managementQualificationsBachelors degree required3+ years of experience in government relationsStrong organizational skills and excellent attention to detail with ability to multitaskAbility to work independently and as part of a teamExcellent written communications and writing skills requiredKorean language skills are a plus
