An enterprise media organization is seeking a Staff AI Engineer to support the design and development of production AI applications in a remote U.S. setting. This role focuses on building scalable backend services, AI-driven workflows, and modern cloud-based solutions using Python, LLMs, FastAPI, and AWS.
About the Opportunity:

Responsibilities:
  • Build and maintain scalable backend microservices using Python and FastAPI.
  • Develop AI tools, guardrails, and deterministic functions used to support AI agents and visual asset workflows.
  • Implement distributed orchestration patterns for high-volume job dispatching and workflow processing.
  • Integrate LLMs and third-party AI endpoints into production applications and owned infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with engineering and quality assurance teams to design, test, and deliver reliable solutions in an agile environment.
Qualifications:
  • 7+ years of professional software engineering experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience
  • Strong proficiency in modern Python
  • Hands-on experience deploying and operating services in AWS, Azure, or GCP
  • Practical experience integrating LLMs into software applications, including inferencing endpoints, context windows, and AI-generated content parsing
  • Applied experience with Terraform or similar infrastructure-as-code tools
  • Experience writing clean, maintainable, and well-tested code in an agile environment
  • Strong understanding of digital and broadcast production operations and workflows
  • Strong knowledge of AI industry trends and best practices
  • Strong experience with the C4 model and traditional design artifacts
Desired Skills:
  • Experience with AI agents, orchestration, and distributed systems
  • Experience with serverless infrastructure
  • Familiarity with continuous integration practices
  • Experience with Java, Go, or JavaScript
  • Experience working with AWS and Azure
