Staff Accountant

Assistant ControllerPosition Summary: Report directly to the Assistant Controller. Assist in matters relating to financial and operational reporting. Primarily responsible for supporting assigned account reconciliations, journal entries, and sales reporting schedules. Additionally, this position will be involved in the month end close process and assists with audit inquiries and requests.Roles & Responsibilities:Prepare monthly journal entriesReconcile various asset and liability accounts monthly, as assignedPerform account analyses for assigned accounts to identify and correct discrepancies as appropriateAssist the accounting/finance department in streamlining current reporting processesPrepare ad hoc reports as requested by managementReview and validate daily and weekly sales reports for senior managementAssist in the preparation of sales tax returnsAssist with store licenses and permits renewalsJob Requirements:Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business with an accounting concentrationExperience: This position requires at least 1-2 years of accounting experience.

Full-cycle accounting close experience a plus. Inventory related experience a plusKnowledge: Exposure to US GAAP principles plus. Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel required. Multiview system experience a plus.

Grocery retail, warehousing or distribution industry exposure preferredSkills and Ability: Effective verbal and written communication skills. Strong numerical aptitude. Analytical, organizational, and time-management skills.
