We're looking to expand our team across the board.York Space Systems is seeking a Staff Accountant to join our finance team based in our Greenwood Village office. The Staff Accountant will play a key role in the monthly close process and financial reporting for a growing manufacturing organization. This position requires strong technical accounting knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to partner cross-functionally while supporting continuous process improvements.This role will be fully on-site in our Greenwood Village office.Key ResponsibilitiesExecute month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities, ensuring assigned areas are completed accurately and on time in accordance with US GAAPPrepare and post journal entries across key areas including expenses, revenue, accruals, intercompany, and fixed assetsPerform and maintain detailed account reconciliations, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and timely resolution of reconciling itemsSupport general ledger integrity by validating financial data, investigating variances, and maintaining proper account classificationsAssist with ad hoc financial analysis, reporting requests, and special projects as assignedAssist with audit processes by preparing PBC documentation and responding to auditor requestsEnsure compliance with internal controls, SOX requirements, and company accounting policies and proceduresIdentify discrepancies or process gaps and proactively recommend improvements to enhance accuracy and efficiencySupport implementation of process improvements, automation initiatives, and system enhancements within the accounting functionPartner with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate financial data and resolve transactional issuesCross-train to provide backup coverage across the accounting team to support broader finance initiativesQualifications Required for the RoleBachelor's degree in accounting or finance1+ years of industry accounting experience preferred; manufacturing experience preferredStrong understanding of U.S.
GAAPExperience with ERP systems required; Oracle Fusion Cloud preferredGeneral Excel skills preferredStrong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with high attention to detailProven ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and operate effectively in a fast-paced environmentExcellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skillsWillingness to work full-time in our Greenwood Village, CO office; this position does not support remote or hybrid work.In compliance with local law, we are disclosing the compensation, or a range thereof, for roles in locations where legally required.
