HoofBooks is a modern accounting and consulting firm dedicated to the equine industry , helping barns, trainers, and equestrian professionals simplify their finances while building sustainable, profitable businesses. We’re looking for a part‑time Accountant who shares our love for both numbers and horses and can reconcile QuickBooks as easily as she or he can understand a horse show schedule.
Responsibilities
- Manage bookkeeping for multiple equine clients in QuickBooks Online
- Prepare and file business and individual tax returns
- Review and adjust client books for year‑end readiness
- Communicate directly with clients to explain financial results
- Support the development of HoofBooks SOPs and client onboarding systems
- Contribute ideas to improve efficiency and reporting
Qualifications
- Experience in accounting, tax preparation, or bookkeeping (5+ years preferred)
- Proficiency with QuickBooks Online and Excel
- Strong understanding of tax filing for small businesses
- Excellent communication and attention to detail
- Bonus: background in or passion for the horse industry
